Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. All ultrasounds require a referral from your GP, midwife, specialist, or physiotherapist. You can upload your referral when booking online or bring it with you on the day of your appointment.

  • Most scans take 30–45 minutes. More detailed studies, such as pregnancy anatomy scans, may take a little longer.

  • Absolutely. You are welcome to bring a support person to your ultrasound.

  • Ultrasound results are typically sent to your referring clinician within 24 hours. In urgent cases, reports are prioritised and may be available within one hour.

  • That’s fine. If our clinical team needs any additional information, we’ll contact you before your appointment. You’re also welcome to reach out  if you’re unsure — our team can help confirm the appropriate scan type based on your referral.

  • Due to limited space in our clinical rooms, we recommend bringing only one or two support people. This helps maintain a calm and focused environment during your ultrasound appointment.

The Value of Early Ultrasound Imaging

Ultrasound supports early identification of changes, ongoing monitoring, and clinical decision-making. When used appropriately, it assists referrers and patients with timely information that may guide further investigation or care.
